About the Training Course

Embodied Habits

Methodologies and framework

This 9-day residential training course brings together 31 youth workers from 8 European countries to explore practical methodologies of breath, yoga, dance, and improvisation as a framework for habit formation and embodied learning.
If you work with young people and have ever felt that something is missing between a great workshop and lasting change in their lives — this training might be exactly what you've been looking for.
... ... ...
The methodology draws on James Clear's Atomic Habits — one of the most practical frameworks for understanding how behaviour change really works — and translates it into concrete youth work tools. Not as theory, but as something you can walk away with and use on Monday morning. You'll learn how small, consistent actions compound into real change, and more importantly, how to design learning experiences that support young people in making that happen in their own lives.

The training combines breathing techniques, yogic knowledge, dance, and improvisation with facilitation practice, peer exchange, and hands-on workshop design. At its core is an experimental embodied approach — you will encounter the methodology through your own body and experience before translating it into tools for your work with young people, whatever context that happens in.
... ... ...
The daily structure of the course is itself part of the methodology. We believe you can't effectively teach habit formation without practising it, so the programme is built around consistent daily rhythms, shared meals, physical activity, reduced screen time, and quality rest. Going to sleep at a reasonable hour is part of the programme — not as a rule imposed from outside, but as a shared commitment to exploring whether the depth of connection we're looking for might actually be found in well-rested mornings rather than late nights.
... ... ...
This also means the training asks something personal from participants. You'll be invited to take responsibility for your own mental and physical health, to notice your own patterns honestly, and to explore through experience — not just reflection — what sustainable living and working feels like. Community-supported self-exploration, embodied practice, and personal accountability are as central to this week as any session on the programme.

What you'll take home:

  • Clear methodological framework you can start applying straight away

  • Practical session templates and facilitation tools

  • A pilot workshop designed for your own group

  • A supportive European network of youth workers developing their habits

  • Youthpass certificate recognising your learning

The people who get the most out of this training are those who are already doing meaningful work with young people and are hungry for more structure, more depth, and more impact. If you're working with young people who struggle with motivation, routine, or emotional regulation — and you're looking for better ways to support them — this is your space.
Travel, accommodation, meals, and insurance are all covered.

Structure of the project

Before the Training preparation
Once the selection process is complete, all accepted participants will be required to fill out a pre-training questionnaire. This step is essential in helping us tailor the training experience to better suit both individual and group needs.
During the Training
You will take part in an intensive 9-day training.
The training is highly experiential, involving movement, reflection, and group work.
The program will be adapted to group needs, and you will be invited to bring your full presence, openness, and willingness to explore.
Dissemination and Follow-Up Activities
As a selected participant, you will also be involved in spreading the results of the project and sharing the methods you have learned:
✅ Training Booklet Contribution: During the training, you will contribute to a collective Booklet documenting the activities and experiences. This will be edited after the training and shared with you, your organization, and wider networks.✅ Sharing in Your Community: After the project, we expect you to organize a local workshop, presentation, or informal session to share what you’ve learned with your peers, organization, or youth group.✅ Content Creation: You are also expected to contribute by creating short texts, video reflections, blog posts, or testimonials that will be shared through project websites or social media platforms.✅ Ongoing Connection: You’ll be invited to join an online community (e.g., WhatsApp group) to stay in touch with other participants and trainers, share how you’re applying the methods, and support one another in the longer term. These dissemination activities help ensure the learning spreads beyond this one training and supports broader change in youth work practices.

The listed above will also be prerequisites for the travel reimbursement.
